If your child starting school in September 2025?
Once the Local Authority have notified you of your school place in April 2025, we will make contact with you to advise you of the next steps and invite you to attend our New Parents Welcome Evening where we will outline what happens next and provide details of our settling in sessions.
Our Starting School booklet includes lots of useful information about how the Reception year is organised, our Early Years provision and what to expect for your child; please download it via the link at the bottom of this page.
Steps to starting school
Starting school for the first time can be very exciting for some children, but daunting for others. There are steps you can take to support your child in this important transition.
What does being school-ready mean?
Every child develops at a different rate, but working on these areas can help to prepare your child for their transition into Reception.
How do we work with nurseries and Pre-Schools?
At Evercreech CofE Primary, we work closely with our feeder Pre-Schools (inc. Acrons) and nursery settings to learn more about your child and make sure we understand what makes them happy and settled in their environment. For children with higher needs, sometimes a School Entry Plan meeting will be required to learn more about the child; we will notify you if this is required.
Cool Milk
Every child under the age of five is entitled to a free 189ml serving of milk whilst in attendance at a registered day care provider for two or more hours a day. Here at Evercreech our milk is provided by Coolmilk and is enjoyed with our mid-morning snack. We will send you details about how to register your child with Coolmilk before they start; milk alternatives are available for those with dietary needs.
Please find details below that you may find useful to support your child's transition to EYFS.
