What are Free School Meals?

Free school meals are available to children whose parents qualify by meeting the criteria listed.  Children must be in school all day and they will be provided with a meal at lunchtime that is paid for by the school.

How do I qualify?

Parents/Carers who receive any of the following are entitled to free school meals:-

• Income Support (IS)
• Employment Support Allowance (income related) – not contribution related
• Income based Job Seekers Allowance (IBJSA) – not contribution based
• Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• Child Tax Credit with annual taxable income (as assessed by HMRC) of less than £16,190.
• If you are in receipt of Working Tax Credit you are not eligible to receive free school meals.

Please ask for a Free School Meal form at the School Office, this can be completed and returned to the school or can be sent directly to:

ParentMail is a cashless system, making schools safer and giving you peace of mind. Ordering and paying for your child’s school meals online gives you more control and greater visibility over the food choices available. There are a range of choices and all dietary requirements are catered for including all allergens.  A sample matrix and menu for allergy diets is shown below.

All meals must be ordered via ParentMail whether you are entitled to FSM or pay for them.  The cost of each meal is £2.50 per day. A sample of these menus can be found below.
