PSHE/RSE

At Evercreech CofE Primary we offer a comprehensive programme of PSHE and RSE following the SCARF scheme and materials. SCARF stands for: Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience and Friendship.

Through the course of the year children will learn and explore the following topics:

  • Me and my relationships
  • Valuing difference
  • Keeping safe
  • Rights and respect
  • Being my best
  • Growing and changing

In using this scheme, the children will learn more about keeping themselves physically and mentally safe and healthy.

Throughout the year, working closely with our Wellbeing Lead and ELSA team we plan a series of events to raise the awareness of children's mental health. Most recently we have held a Positive Thinking day in which children say positive attributes about each other. On Friday the 7th of February we are holding 'Wear your SCARF to school day'.

Wear Your Scarf To School Day:

The week beginning Monday 3rd of February is Children’s Mental Health Week.

We’ll be doing some special activities during this week to help children keep mentally well, using resources provided to us by Coram Life Education SCARF and on Friday 7th of February, to mark the end of this week, we’ll be holding a special Wear your Scarf to School day.

On Wear your SCARF to school Day children are invited to wear a special or favourite scarf all day in school. We’ll be doing some special activities to help us remember and celebrate SCARF’s important values of Safety, Caring Achievement, Resilience and Friendship.

Resources and advice for parents:

SCARF offer free resources for parents. The resources consist of some activities to do at home together to help your child be the best version of themselves alongside resources for children's mental health.
